1 in 5 people living in the U.S. experience mental illness. Which comes out to about 43.8 million of us. And for people in creative professions, that number is even higher. Yet, 63% of us don’t get the support or help we need. Mostly because it’s a (very) hard subject to talk about. One that brings up, well, fear. So, at David&Goliath, we decided to start de-stigmatizing it by being brave, by naming it and doing something about it.
With the help and support of a huge team of D&G-ers, we started a movement to begin to de-stigmatize mental health. Our goal is to not only effect our own agency, but to also encourage fellow agencies to join us in a nation-wide effort to begin to break down this fear of mental health. To start, we at David&Goliath have added a Mental Health Day to all employee benefit packages, to be used at the employee’s sole discretion, whenever they need a day to practice self care.
